DENSO is the name for diesel
The company – a long-standing pioneer of world-leading automotive diesel technologies, and the world’s number three player in Common-Rail diesel technology – now offers independent aftermarket customers a growing range of diesel components. Every unit in these continually expanding Diesel ranges is OE quality and unique within the aftermarket.
Wim Kirpestein, Product Manager Diesel at DENSO After Market confirms: “DENSO has become well known across the aftermarket for its extensive, OE quality replacement parts programmes, such as our Thermal Systems ranges, Starters & Alternators and Spark Plugs. But relatively few customers realise that we now also offer an outstanding selection of Diesel parts for the aftermarket. These DENSO Diesel ranges give wholesalers, distributors and workshops invaluable access to advanced, original DENSO technologies, as well as delivering guaranteed quality and performance.”
A long-established manufacturer of original equipment diesel systems and components, DENSO Corporation has been producing Injection Pumps since 1957. It was the first company to introduce 2,000 bar Diesel Common Rail technology in 1995, and the world’s highest injection pressure of 2,500 bar in 2013 – helping to increase fuel efficiency by up to 3 percent, whilst reducing particulate matter by up to 50 percent and nitrogen oxides by up to 8 percent.
Today DENSO After Market’s comprehensive range of OE quality Diesel components brings that expertise direct to aftermarket customers. Ranges currently include Fuel Injection Pumps (Common Rail - supply pump type) and Diesel Injectors, with a total of 100 part numbers available for Common Rail Pumps and Injectors covering at least 329 applications. Additional ranges of Diesel Fuel Filters and Suction Control Valves are also available. All parts are unique to DENSO’s range, with unrivalled reliability and extremely low warranty ratios.
Wim Kirpestein continued: “Diesel equates to almost half the car parc in Europe; requiring a specialist approach throughout the entire supply chain to effectively service and repair these large numbers of technically demanding vehicles. DENSO Corporation’s position as the third largest Common Rail Diesel player in the world puts us in a unique position to enable aftermarket customers to meet that demand – from the highest quality diesel parts, to market leading training and support.”
DENSO’s Diesel Service Dealer Network – your global partner locally
As part of its diesel offering, DENSO After Market operates a growing DENSO Diesel Service Dealer network that underlines its commitment to training and expert knowledge in the field.
Wim Kirpestein explained: “The DENSO diesel service network was introduced more than 25 years ago and is now active across all of our European countries of operation, with 500 service dealer members who are appointed and trained via DENSO’s distributor network. The scheme provides an important end-customer reassurance factor that adds extra bottom line value for the dealers involved.
“As well as being individually trained and accredited to fully diagnose, service and repair DENSO diesel pumps, injectors and common rail systems, members are able to take advantage of lower-cost equipment from DENSO. This includes the DENSO Interactive Information & Communication (DENSO-C) Diagnostic Tool; the first and only tool on the market that’s specifically designed for independent garages to use with DENSO’s advanced diesel vehicle parts and systems.”
Future advances
Looking ahead, DENSO foresees diesel cars continuing their popularity, and remains focused on driving innovation through its diesel ranges. Building on the success of its 2,500-bar common rail injector, DENSO Corporation is now working to commercialise a 3,000 bar diesel common rail system. Future innovations also include a fuel pump that is similar in size but more efficient than the previous system, plus redesigned components and new materials. The company also pledges to continue to develop further new products and technologies that help improve the performance of diesel-powered vehicles whilst reducing their impact on the environment.
