Once again staged at the legendary Belfry course, the DENSO UK Aftermarket team hosted key customers and invited guests to its annual golf event and went for a tropical theme in contrast with the current, lacklustre summer!

“The aftermarket is a competitive industry, full of hardworking professionals, who have to cope with long hours and the pressures of the clock,” explained DENSO’s UK and Eire Sales Manager, Kevin Peacocke, “so it’s always nice to rein back from these day to day realities and enjoy a little leisure time, which is what our golf day is all about.

“As has become the norm, the format was based on a four ball tournament, with a few individual competitions, such as the longest drive and nearest the pin, running alongside the main event. Then after the golf has finished, we relax and unwind with drinks, dinner and the presentation of the awards.

“In contrast to the stumbling performance of this year’s summer, we opted for a tropical theme for the evening, which was embraced with enthusiasm. Thankfully, the rain stayed away, so we could enjoy a round or two before our dinner and the handing out of the prizes, all in the openair, while being entertained by a fitting steel drum band!

“The winners of the four ball competition were a team made up of Rizwan Khan and Imtiaz Sange from Moffatts and James Rahill and Chris Green from Involution, so well done and congratulations to them all.

“When it comes to the support acts, Mike Carter from ECP was nearest the pin, taking just two shots on the 18th, Matthew Rumble again from ECP and Iain Knox from CD group were joint winners of the longest drive on the 1st hole, and Scott Bramley of Merlin Diesel hit the day’s most enthusiastic drive.
