DENSO Anniversary Event 2025 - Experience motorsport first hand!
Part 1: Insights into the motorsport elite - a visit to TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe
The event kicked off at TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Europe (TGR-E) - one of the world's leading motorsport development centres. After a welcome from the management, the tour of various areas began:
History meets the future: a tour of the motorsport museum
Our participants marvelled at an impressive collection of legendary vehicles - from classic rally cars and Formula 1 cars to an innovative H2 hydrogen racing car. Each of these vehicles tells a story of technological progress and uncompromising performance.
Technology & precision in production
We were then given an exclusive insight into CNC production. Using the latest CNC technology, 3D printing and carbon production, precision components are created here in the shortest possible time that can withstand the extreme demands of motorsport. This was an impressive demonstration of the perfection and attention to detail with which TGR-E works.
Engine and chassis workshop - performance put through its paces
A special highlight was the visit to the chassis workshop, where a racing car was being prepared for the opening race of the 2025 World Endurance Championship (WEC) in Qatar. Equally exciting: on one of the engine test benches, we were able to hear the 3-cylinder engine from a GR Yaris rally car running continuously in a test chamber. In the neighbouring workshop, the engines of the GR Yaris Rally1 and Rally2 are built by hand. Remarkable: In view of the wealth of detailed knowledge of the engine experts, the openness and accessibility of the TGR teams was particularly impressive for our participants.
Part 2: Pure adrenaline: DENSO Kart Challenge at the Michael Schumacher kart track
After so many fascinating insights, it was time for some action! At the Michael Schumacher kart track in Kerpen, our participants took to the starting line themselves. They fought for every tenth of a second in a thrilling karting challenge - with beaming winners standing on the podium at the end. A real highlight that generated a lot of enthusiasm!
Part 3: Cologne finale at the FRÜH brewery at the cathedral
After so much action, the cosy part of the day was not to be missed. We ended the evening in a relaxed atmosphere at the traditional FRÜH brewery by the cathedral. With regional specialities and a freshly tapped Kölsch beer, it was the perfect opportunity to reflect on our impressions and make new contacts.
Feedback & conclusion: A day to remember!
