DENSO shares its thermal management knowhow

As an original equipment (OE) thermal management supplier of choice to many of the world’s vehicle manufacturers (VMs), DENSO not only has the necessary knowledge and expertise, but also the willingness to share it with aftermarket professionals, to ensure they are able to undertake and complete service and repair work successfully

The most recent example of this principle is the addition of three new installation guides for: Air Conditioning (AC) Condenser, AC Compressor and Radiator, which, as well as directing technicians through the installation process, also helpfully address general precautions that should be followed, the tools that will be required and any additional parts that are needed to complete the replacement successfully.

As a trusted OE supply partner, DENSO recognises the importance of following the VM’s protocols throughout the removal and installation process, including specified torque setting and tightening sequences, or the use of the correct specification oil, as examples, so these guides also highlight this stipulation, which is a further aid to technicians undertaking the work.

Another dimension to these guides that also sets them apart, is their additional advice, such as to immediately cap the open connections to prevent moisture entering the AC system when the existing condenser is removed, or to install the receiver drier or accumulator last if it’s a separate unit, as examples from the AC Condenser guide, for instance.

Turning to the Radiator guide, equally useful advice includes making visual checks on the condition of the cooling fans and the requirement to install any part of the old radiator that must be reused, before installing the new radiator, whereas in the Compressor guide, considerable attention is given to the necessity to ensure the correct flushing method is followed and the right specification and quantity of oil is present in the compressor when it is installed, as well as to respect its running in procedure.
