DENSO supports both its customers and children in need

As part of its backing for driver Catalin Ienasel and co-pilot Adrian Diaconescu, DENSO Aftermarket used the first round of the Romanian Rally Championship to not only recognise the ongoing support of its valued customers, but also demonstrated its philanthropic side, as the team visited a children’s home.

After recently confirming DENSO Aftermarket’s ongoing sponsorship agreement with Catalin and his Ice Team, Claudiu Teris, sales executive from DENSO Romania, was at the Odorheiul Secuiesc Rally on the 25th-27th April, the opening event of the national rally series, where he and his invited customers not only watched Catalin navigate the various stages in his Toyota Yaris GR, but also got a taste of the highspeed action from the co-driver’s seat!

“Building relationships and developing customer partnerships are very important for any business,” explained Claudiu, “and so using an event such as this was a fantastic way for us to do that with our valued customers. It gave us two pleasurable days with seven of our respected distributor customers, who really enjoyed the spectacle of watching these high performance rally cars driven in anger. However, the opportunity to meet the drivers and experience what it’s like to be driven at speed through the event’s shakedown stages, put some even bigger smiles on their faces.”

Alongside its fiercely competitive side, motorsport often also provides a point of interest that has the ability to reach out across communities. So, following the event, the car and its drivers, went with the DENSO team and their customers, to visit the Saint Joseph Children’s Home in Odorheiul Secuiesc, to distribute some small gifts to the many children the home supports.

“After the excitement of the rally, it was a very poignant and emotional occasion as we visited Saint Joseph’s to meet with the Principal, Sister Emilia, and the 160 children who are residents at the home,” Claudiu continued. “It was fantastic to see the sheer joy on their faces as they encountered a real rally car for themselves and very humbling to experience their huge appreciation for the small gifts we were able to give them.

“Sister Emilia was very welcoming and showed us the houses where the children live, as well as the facilities they use including the gym, theatre, painting room, computer room and chess room, but the most important one was the Chapel.

"Saint Joseph’s was established in 1995, when the Swiss foundation Basel Hilft built the settlement to offer accommodation to orphaned or needy children. It now hosts 160 children, staffed by 10 hardworking Sisters, so we are very pleased to be able to play a small part to help and show our admiration for the tremendous contribution they make to the lives of these underprivileged children.”
