DENSO warns distributors to watch out for counterfeit Hybrid wipers!
DENSO is an original equipment (OE) partner to many vehicle manufacturers globally and a leading aftermarket supplier, dedicated to providing it with the premium quality products vehicles need. However, unscrupulous organisations and individuals sometimes try to undermine this quality and dupe the industry by introducing counterfeit imitations that aren’t suitable for the task, let alone worthy of the DENSO name.
In response to a particular threat to its Hybrid wiper blade range, DENSO has produced a new leaflet that can be download from its website as a pdf, and which takes its customers, and those tasked with fitting its OE blades, through the key factors that differentiate them from counterfeit products.
Helpfully illustrated with colour images, the leaflet first highlights differences in the packaging, and reiterates that genuine DENSO wipers will include the county of origin, the correct traceability and EAC Certification marks, the correct DENSO logo and website address, plus a QR Code.
When it comes to the Hybrid wipers themselves, a genuine DENSO blade will have clear and understandable markings on the clip, such as DW45 and 018L, which indicate DENSO Wiper 45 cm and 18 inch left hand, respectively. A counterfeit is likely to have just a random set of numbers and letters. Again, the aerofoil on the blade will look and feel smooth on a genuine DENSO blade, but will tend to be rough on a counterfeit.
In summary:

- Verify the correct length and markings on the product
- Ensure smooth finish and clear branding on clips and covers
