Enjoying an Italian adventure!
“In order to express our gratitude for the important contribution they make to the regions, we decided to design a trip that delivered the ‘wow factor’ that our valued customers deserved,” explained DENSO Marketing & Communications CEE & CEA, Tereza Cechova, “and that meant combining history, culture and adrenalin, with time spent in Torino, Modena and Poirino.”
On their arrival in Italy, the guests were taken to the Lavazza Museum in Torino, for an interesting, guided tour that explained the history and art of making the perfect coffee. It included a unique tasting experience featuring an unusual ‘espresso tonic’ mixed drink, along with coffee chips, creating the perfect blend of culture and flavour!
Day two combined a glimpse of DENSO’s considerable thermal management expertise with a visit to DENSO Thermal Systems S.p.A. in Poirino, followed by a walk around the Torino Car Museum.
The DENSO Thermal Systems facility is the site where the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units, as well as engine cooling modules, are produced and assembled. It was therefore a great opportunity for the guests to explore the headquarter, Aftermarket division and warehouse, which are all situated within it.
In the afternoon, the group was immersed into the captivating world of automotive history at the Museo Nazionale dell‘Automobile, a must see attraction for any car enthusiast and where they could feast their eyes on an incredible collection of vintage and modern cars.
After enjoying DENSO’s present automotive technology and the museum’s past motoring history, day three complemented the experience with the thrill and adrenalin rush of getting behind the wheel of some thoroughly modern, and very potent, machinery, with a high performance driving experience at the Modena racetrack.
The thoroughbreds wheeled out of the garages at the Autodromo di Modena for the guests to get to grips with out on the circuit were the Ferrari 488 Challenge, which, with a 3.9-litre, V8 engine producing 670 bhp, is the most powerful version, and the Lamborghini Gallardo, a 5.2-litre V10, developing 570 bhp, both capable of sub three second 0-100 acceleration and with a top speed of more than 320 km/h.
It should go without saying, but despite the rain, the day was an unforgettable, adrenaline fuelled experience for the participants who enjoyed a truly once in a life time opportunity. Few people have the chance to get behind the wheel of such hugely powerful machines and be encouraged to try and get the most out of them in an environment that they were ultimately designed for – life rarely gets better!
The fourth and final day began with breakfast, after which the guests had a free morning to relax before lunch and then depart for their flights home. However, for 22 of them, the realities of life made an unwelcome return as their flights were cancelled and rescheduled for the following day! Although frustrating, they took the setback in good grace and were still hugely positive and appreciative of the whole trip.
“Now the trip has come to its end, I want to express again my heartfelt thanks to all the participants that joined us on this unforgettable four-day Italian adventure”, Tereza continued. “Their energy, enthusiasm, and positivity made all the difference and turned this trip into something truly special. Despite the unexpected turn of events with our flights, I’m so proud to see how everyone embraced the situation with such a positive attitude. It’s moments like these that remind us of the strength of our partnerships, not just in business, but in the way we come together as a community.
“A huge thank you to our valued customers for their continued loyalty and trust in us. This trip was not only a way to show our appreciation, but also a reminder of the strong connections we’ve built and will continue to build in the future.
“Finally, I’d also like to thank the amazing DENSO Italy team for their hospitality and insightful tour of the Thermal Systems facility in Poirino.”
