As the FIA World Endurance Championship returned after an enforced absence during the COVID-19 outbreak, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing were back to their winning ways at the Total 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on 15 August. The team occupied the top two spots on the podium, with the #7 TS050 HYBRID crew of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and José María López taking the gold.
Driver Elfyn Evans claimed his first victory with the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team, at Rally Sweden. Kalle Rovanperä and Sébastien Ogier also secured a place on the podium, putting Toyota in the lead of the manufacturers’ championship.
New drivers Sébastien Ogier and Elfyn Evans finished second and third respectively at the first event of the season – Rallye Monte-Carlo. Rookie driver Kalle Rovanperä also delivered a strong performance.
A double celebration for TOYOTA GAZOO Racing after a challenging 8-hour race in Bahrain. The team secured a one-two victory on the podium, its third of the 2019-2020 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season.
The team finished second and third in the 4 Hours of Shanghai after a challenging race. Competing with the maximum success handicap, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing was still able to secure podium positions by delivering a patient race and making up time in the pit stops.
